Meet Paul Peeler
My name is Paul Peeler, and my story starts in a small Georgia town where the population hasn’t changed much in decades. It was the kind of place where everyone knew everyone, and where a grocery store wasn’t just a business — it was a lifeline for the community. My family ran one of those stores, and my earliest memories are tied to stocking shelves, bagging groceries, and watching how people took care of one another without making a show of it.
Working for my father and uncle taught me lessons I didn’t fully appreciate until much later. In our store, if someone couldn’t pay, we ran a tab. If an older neighbor was sick, we delivered their groceries. If someone had errands to run, we kept their milk cold in the back. That wasn’t “customer service.” It was simply how you treated people. Those values shaped me long before I knew what a fiduciary was.
When I entered the financial world, I carried those small-town instincts with me. Early in my career, I worked for a national brokerage firm where the internal mantra was, “We are the custodians of our clients’ dreams.” I thrived in that environment because it aligned with how I was raised. But when leadership changed and the focus shifted to metrics and “share of wallet,” I realized I wasn’t built for a system that treated families like data points. I wanted to work with people the way my family served our community — personally, honestly, and with real accountability.
It took me years to understand that the values I tried to outrun were actually my greatest strengths. Today, as a financial advisor, I run my practice the same way my family ran that grocery store: fair pricing, real conversations, house calls when needed, and a commitment to doing what’s right even when it’s not the most efficient business decision. I believe the word fiduciary should mean something, and I’m not interested in telling people what they want to hear just to keep them.
My work now centers on family stewards — the people who carry the responsibility of caring for loved ones, managing complex decisions, and planning for futures that don’t always follow a straight line. My own experiences, both personal and professional, give me a deep respect for the weight they carry. I understand what it means to protect someone who depends on you, and I understand how overwhelming the system can feel.
That’s why I created The Preparedness Project. It grew out of a simple idea: families facing mental-health challenges, caregiving responsibilities, or long-term planning needs deserve clarity, structure, and support. The project is my way of giving back — a resource built to help families prepare for the future with confidence, not fear. It reflects everything I learned growing up: when people are struggling, you step in and help.
My dad used to tell me, “Son, when it’s all said and done, the only person you answer to is the one in the mirror.” That’s the standard I try to meet every day — in my work, in my relationships, and in the way I show up for the families who trust me.

Out of Office Gallery
If you ever get an out of office notification from me saying I don’t have access to email, I’m likely somewhere enjoying the outdoors and some quiet, reflective time. I like photography as well, and how my pictures help me remember the importance of these trips in fostering my own well-being, freedom, and progress.
